USCIS DNA Testing process
In order to begin the USCIS DNA Testing process there are a few things that need to take place. First, the petitioner or the family's attorney should have received a request for evidence letter like an I-797 or I-130 form from USCIS. If you have received this document then you can move on to stage two.
Stage two, now that you have received your request for evidence letter you are now ready to contact IDTO to help you coordinate your DNA sample collection appointment. Stage three - If the petitioner resides in the U.S. your sample will be collected and shipped to the lab. The lab will also be responsible for shipping the DNA test kit to the US Embassy to your country of origin. Stage four - The Embassy will coordinate the DNA sample collection appointment for the petitioner in home country. After the samples are collected they will shipped back to the laboratory in the U.S. Stage five - When the lab receives the samples from all parties involved with your test. The turnaround time for the results to be completed is 2 to 3 business days from the date the lab received the samples.
